IntroductionIn September 2000, the Projects Team at the LSE Library (the London School of Economics & Political Science), commenced work on a JISC-funded project named ANGEL (Authenticated Guided Environment for Learning). Over three years, ANGEL explored and developed concepts and technologies for the management of metadata about information resources, and the users of information resources and future library services. This work has played a significant role in founding the development of the JISC Information Environment and the creation of a devolved Access Management ("Core Middleware") infrastructure for the UK education community. A number of 'successor' projects to ANGEL in which the LSE Library Projects Team has been involved are also indexed here. To find out more about the ANGEL-related projects, click here For a summary and links to all the work done with Shibboleth at LSE, go to our Shibboleth at LSE website. Publications and presentations by (or relating to work of) the LSE Library Projects Team are collected in an Open Access archive. A useful collection of resources on federated access management has recently been prepared for the ICDL Access Management Workshop in New Delhi (December 2006)". The LSE Library is also involved in a number of other projects and initiatives, which are described on the LSE Library Projects and Partnerships page. |
