The research was centred around the audit process of current Identity Management practices at the 10 project's partners institutions.

The list of audit topics:

  • credential management
  • certificate management
  • attribute stores and uses
  • handling of identity for "non-standard" individuals (i.e. not classed as staff or student)
  • handling of prior ID discovery for new users
  • identity security and privacy assurance policies
  • requirements for use of credentials
  • single institution and cross institution Virtual Organisations and tools
  • collaborative learning
  • integrating UK HE identity management with other communities (including NHS, overseas integration requirements)
  • personal Identity Management and managing identity across institutional boundaries (cross-affiliation)
