Introduction
The DELIVER project (1/10/ 2002-31/7/2003) designed and implemented practical software tools for end-users and administrators of institutional Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and Library Management Systems (LMS) to facilitate the consistent creation and ease-of-use of course-based resource lists.

Aims and Objectives
Aim: to integrate digital library functionality within local Virtual Learning Environments (VLE).
The project focused on three specific areas to achieve this aim:
1. The development of a generic library area within the VLE.
2. The development subject-specific resource areas within the VLE.
3. The development of course-specific resource areas within the VLE.
Stage one was to define the general library requirements within the VLE, and a structure for organising this information. Stage two was to provide tools for course designers to discover, select, describe and add subject-specific resources to their course library area. Stage three was to provide tools for course designers to discover, select, describe and add course-specific resources to their course library area.
